Annual Congress 2018 starts this Monday 2 April and continues until Wednesday 4 April.
Approximately 850 delegates representing 35,000 primary teachers in the south and 7,000 teachers in the north will attend.
The Conference will be addressed at its opening session at 2pm on Monday 2 April 2018 by the INTO President, John Boyle.
On Tuesday 3 April 2018 the Minister for Education and Skills Richard Bruton TD will address Congress and the INTO General Secretary, Sheila Nunan will respond.
This year INTO Congress will be dominated by teachers’ pay, industrial relations issues and education issues of concern to primary teachers. These include equality and pay restoration, teacher supply, conditions of employment, the funding of schools, promoted posts in schools, school leadership issues including workload and pay parity with second level principals, the primary school curriculum, special needs teaching and tackling disadvantage.
This year the INTO celebrates its 150 anniversary and during the event will mark the occasion appropriately.
