The Biennial Conference of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions took place last week in Dublin, with the INTO sending a large delegation.
INTO’s Northern Secretary, Gerry Murphy, was elected President of ICTU 2019-2021.
INTO General Secretary, John Boyle, and Assistant General Secretary, Deirdre O’Connor, have been elected to the Executive Council of ICTU. The first meeting of the Executive Council takes place next week.
Outgoing INTO General Secretary Sheila Nunan delivered a wide-ranging address as outgoing President of Congress.

Many INTO delegates spoke at the Biennial Conference in the Trinity College Business Centre. The following INTO resolution on primary education was carried unanimously.
