The Department of Education has today published Circular 0073/2024, outlining the latest pay uplift for teachers effective from 1 October 2024. A pay increase of 1% or €500, whichever is greater, on all scale points is due on 1 October 2024. All allowances including qualification and promoted posts will increase by 1% also.
The Irish National Teachers’ Organisation (INTO) has engaged with the Department of Education who confirmed that this pay rise will be reflected in payslips on Thursday, 10 October 2024. Payment on this date will be for the period 24 September to 7 October 2024, therefore the increase will be only for the first 7 days of October. The full effect of the increase will be reflected in the following payslip on 24 October.
The percentage increases have also been applied to hourly and daily rates of pay.
