Supplementary panel comes into operation in some areas

The Irish National Teachers’ Organisation wishes to advise our members that the Department of Education has issued the latest panel update (PDF). There are currently 30 teachers awaiting redeployment on the main panel.

In dioceses/areas where the main panel has cleared, any remaining permanent posts may be filled from the supplementary panel and all fixed-term vacancies can be advertised as per the terms of Circular 0057/2023.

The supplementary panel has been released to panel operators in the following dioceses/areas today, Thursday, 23 May 2024:

Achonry Armagh Clogher Clonfert
Cloyne Cork Derry Dublin
Elphin Ferns Kildare & Leighlin Meath
Ross Tuam Waterford & Lismore

The supplementary panel is also in operation in all areas under the patronage of Educate Together and Community National schools. Panels under the patronage of An Foras Patrúnachta are in operation in all areas with the exception of counties Donegal and Galway.

As soon as the main panel is clear in other dioceses/areas, the supplementary panel will issue immediately. Schools are reminded that only permanent vacancies are to be filled from the supplementary panel.

The department has also published a Supplementary Panel FAQ.

Teachers on the panel should ensure that they complete a Supplementary Panel Update Form (PUF) and return it to the Primary Allocations Section of the department when they have secured a permanent or fixed-term post or if they wish to remove their name from the panel.

The INTO has created a short informational animation about the supplementary panel below. This video explains the appointment process and accepting a job offer from the supplementary panel.

Members with further questions about the Supplementary Panel should watch the video above. If you have further questions, COEL team members on the Queryline will be happy to advise and assist you. Email info@into.ie or phone (01) 8047700.
