Sustaining Teachers, Sustaining Education

Delegates to last weekend’s Education Conference in Wexford enjoyed hearing from a range of speakers including keynote presenters Dr Anne Dolan of Mary Immaculate College and Deirdre Hodson from the EU Commission.

Attendees commented positively on the variety of workshop topics available and how much they valued the time to meet and discuss current issues around the topic of sustainability with teaching colleagues.
Highlights from the workshops included delegates carrying ‘journey sticks’ through the venue as part of the Wild Schools workshop and Lego creations put together under the topic of ‘Exploring ESD Skills Through Lego Serious Play’. Other sessions included Self Care and Restorative Practice as delegates looked to sustain themselves as well as the world around them.

Bursary winners and MIC students presented the results of their research projects and jazz saxophonist, Dulapo, entertained delegates in the main hall as well as in the Global Citizenship Schools workshop.

A webcast of plenary sessions, presentation downloads and a photo gallery from the event are all available from the conference page.
