An individual directed time budget ensures that all tasks and duties can be completed within the working year (1265hrs). If a teacher does not have an agreed individual directed time budget, protections must be put in place to ensure a manageable workload.

DE Request to Teachers on Career Break

The DE have written to schools to help school principals and Boards of Governors deal with requests from teachers, currently on career break, who wish to temporarily return to the classroom to support teaching colleagues and help ease the staffing pressures on schools at the present time.
